Christian Cotroneo is a former reporter and columnist at the Toronto Star, as well as a foreign correspondent and founding editor of the Huffington Post Canada. He has a special interest in climate change and animal welfare.
As a writer, Cotroneo has served as crime reporter, columnist and investigative journalist for Canada’s biggest newspaper, the Toronto Star. He also spent three years in Southeast Asia, as a foreign correspondent writing in depth about major events and politics across the region. Along the way, he has written hundreds of stories about animal welfare and climate change. He earned a National Newspaper Award citation for his work investigating illegal credit card operations across Canada. He’s also cited in the Canadian Who’s Who, an annual compendium of contemporary biographies, listing the top Canadians based on merit.
An editor, he was the managing editor of Southeast Asia GLOBE, a business magazine based in East Asia. He was also one of the founding editors of the Huffington Post Canada, designing and planning the news site's first edition based outside of the U.S.
Christian earned his BA from Brock University, and his MJ from Carleton University.
